jambiya
When I was 8 years old my father gave me a jambiya. Jambiya is clothes. I wear it at parties, weddings and on Fridays we wear it in prayer. This is something from the culture of Yemen since a long time ago, and the jambiya was given its name because it was worn on the side of a person. The word jambiya is derived from the Arabic word janb. Jambiya has a handle, a blade and a sheath in which the blade is held . The jambiyas are of different colors and when I wear that they remind me of when I was in my country. It also reminds me of all the parties I go to with my Dad and uncles wearing the jambiya. We dance and sing and we all have a lot of fun at the parties
