Jaggery, an unrefined version of molasses is a traditional cane sugar made in my country (Bangladesh) and it is mostly used as a sweetener for foods. It is concentrated mostly from cane juice, but the more organic and high-priced ones are concentrated from dates or palms. The reason why I chose jaggery as one of my most precious products is because it is a product which is very uncommon in countries other than the South Asian region. Even if they are available, most of the jaggeries are concentrated from cane juice. Jaggery reminds me of all the delightful sweet dishes that my mother used to prepare for Eid-Ul-Fitr. To me, the sweetness of jaggery is unforgettable and is like a shred of memory from my home country.
