Ice Cream Dish
While my parents were both born in New York City, my great grandmother on my mother’s side was born in Russia. She immigrated to America around 1910 through Ellis Island. My great grandparents initially lived in New Jersey and then Pennsylvania. There, my great grandfather owned a grocery store and my great grandmother owned a candy and ice cream shop. This is one of the dishes from her ice cream shop. When the great depression hit around 1930, they lost all their investments and moved to the New York area to be closer to family.
