The Bible is a really important part of me and my family's lives and what it represents. Most of what my parents taught to me and my brother was from the Bible, how to be a good person, how to treat people with respect, etc. To be honest however growing up I didn't have that much knowledge of God and the Bible as much as I should have. This was because most of the time my family was busy, and we didn't go to church as often as we’re supposed to. The times we went to church were during holidays. This lack of understanding however motivated me over these few years to get closer to God / Jesus because I feel like I should have known more about him over my life. So I tried to read some verses of the Bible to understand the lessons and messages that God / Jesus is teaching us. Some of these verses that I try to practice every day are in Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” and in Proverbs 19:17 “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.” As I read these verses and tried to learn from them I realized that these are teachings that my parents taught me. I realized that even though we didn't go to church they were still teaching me about God whenever they had time.
