Holocaust
This is a picture of my Great Grandpa Steven from his autobiography about being a survivor of the holocaust. It was my Grandpa's idea to film this to show how not only he made it through this horrific event but how he also helped over 500 people in the process. He lived in Krakow Poland, so after the holocaust he founded an organization that helped families reunite called the Krakow Friendship Society. His story is truly remarkable and mesmerizing to watch. Being Jewish in this time period was horrendous so after the holocaust my Great Grandpa, Great Grandma who's also a survivor and my Grandpa moved to America. They even went so far that they changed their last name from Morrowitz to Morrow so it would sound less Jewish to the general population. This is important to my family because it shows how this event did truly happen and how it affected Jewish people across the world.
