Hockey Stick

Hockey is an important part of my family and this hockey stick has a lot of meaning to it. I have been playing hockey since I was around five years old and my dad also played when he was a little kid and my dad still plays and coaches right now. My entire family is really into hockey. Furthermore, when my family gets together on holidays we often play hockey on the street or in the driveway.  We are Islander fans so we either go to or watch almost every game on TV. Even though hockey is a fun game for me to play and have fun, my family also uses hockey as bonding. This hockey stick has a little more important meaning to me though. My dad gifted this stick to me as I got older and as he felt I was worthy of having this stick. Without a doubt, this particular stick is so meaningful to me because my grandfather used this stick when he trained my dad at their house and also when he played against anyone in general. When my dad played as a kid he used a different stick but when my dad got older he gifted this stick to my dad as a sign of trust and honor. My grandfather gave this stick to my dad rather than giving it to my uncle because my dad had a passion for hockey and he was really dedicated to the game. Nowadays, I don’t use this stick when I play because it has too much value to me and my family but I always keep it in my room to show how hockey is a generational thing in my family.
