Hockey Helmet
My object is a hockey helmet. It is navy blue with a silver cage and a green mouthguard. It is slick and has a little bit of rust because of the ice on the bolts. The shell (AKA the outside) of the hockey helmet is made of vinyl nitrile and the inside is made of a certain type of foam that prevents concussions which are very common in hockey and other brain injuries. It is a Bauer helmet. My parents bought it for me for my first year of playing hockey. It is important to me because my whole family loves hockey my dad has been playing since he was in high school and he played for a varsity team. My brother has been playing since he was little and I’ve been skating basically since I could walk but I started playing hockey when I was ten. My first year everybody else on my team had been playing for at least one year, but I worked hard and ended up being one of the best on my team. I play center because i’m an aggressive player and that's a trait you need to have if you want to be a center. I love hockey because it helps me get my energy out and it’s a really fun to be on such a close knit team.
