In my country Senegal all families have a material object from our ancestors! How did it get to me? Why was it my dream to have it? One day my grandfather, Mussa, told to me in the family we have a historical gift that is passed down the family one by one. He also said he does not remember how far back this tradition started, but he wanted me to remember my culture. Immediately, I wanted to see the gift.         In 2006, the long awaited day had finally arrived with a big memorial gift kaftan. It looked like a narrow cut, long robe with full sleeves and two differences color: white and gray. It also has many different lines. For example, curved, vertical, parallel, zigzag and dotted. It was my dream to have the kaftan because my grandfather Mussa said it would pass to me one day. My grandfather was an old man who was eighty-four years old with dark skin color whose hands are muscular. He is also very intelligent, hardworking, helpful, attentive, and very honest. He is intelligent because he knew many cultures in the world. He was helpful because he shared his culture with those who do not know the culture. He is hard working because he had a lot of responsibilities at all times. He worries about when someone insults the culture. In conclusion, I want to say thank you to my grandfather for everything he did with the historical gift! Rest in peace.
