     Every morning when I get ready for school I put on my hijab. This long journey was with me since I was 3 years old. It has grown up with me throughout my whole school year. To me, my hijab signifies that women have the right to express their religion freely without anyone stopping. This is “my story but it connects to a much bigger story about women’s freedom.  

     I still remember the question my mom used to ask me what color hijab I want. I used to say “ I want the pink hijab”. Also I remember my mom bringing me to the African clothes store for hijabs to match my Cultural clothing.
