Hamsa Charm

The Hamsa/ Evil Eye is an amulet symbolizing protection from negativity and jealousy thoughts. An “Evil Eye” is thought to be an expression of harm, pain, discomfort, or misfortune of some kind. The amulet, or charm, can be worn as jewelry or displayed as a wall hanging. It brings its owner happiness, luck, health, protection, and good fortune. The Hamsa/Evil Eye charm is widely recognized across various religions as a protective symbol. This symbol can be found across many cultures such as in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Central America. Despite the differences in appearance, it retains the same meaning no matter where the story is told. In my Lebanese culture, the Evil Eye charm can be pinned to a newborn or worn as jewelry to dispel curses or harmful thoughts directed at the child. I plan to pass my charm down to my own child when I have a baby!
