The necklace that was passed down My aunt gave up her precious gold necklace that she had made in Guyana and passed it down to me so that I can do the same to my relatives in the future . The necklace was a symbol of my zodiac sign which is a Capricorn. She decided to pass it down to another capricorn but we have a lot of capricorn but out of every body she chose me because she thought that I would be careful and more responsible enough to continue the cycle and pass it on to the next generation. She also chose me because she knew that I would make the right choice to put it into the right hands for the next generation. This necklace impacts my everyday life knowing that I have a risky job and also to show how grateful I am to be able to pick up where my aunt left off at. This necklace is important on holiday’s and special occasions because it can show your background and heritage by the type of gold you have on. This necklace is very special and important to my identity and my culture because in my culture, people take care of gold because they know how valuable and precious it is . This story is important to share so that people will know the labor my ancestors went through to be able to find this gold and create it into this beautiful gold necklace .
