This is a picture of my Great Grandmother's childhood home, in Fevag Norway. Her name was Halgerd Oveson and when she married my Great Grandfather she became Halgerd Hansen. She immigrated in to the United States in 1931 when she was only 13. She took a ship to Nova Scotia, Canada and then a train to Seattle. Her dad came over several year earlier and then sent for the rest of the family when he could. My mom thought it was important to go to the house while she was still alive and we could talk to her about it. I visited the house when I was 8 years old.  My Great Grandmother died the next year. According to my Great Grandmother the Nazis took over the house in World War 2 since it had a view of the harbor. I thought it was really fun because the hotel we stayed at in Trondheim, which is near Fevag, had a waterpark near it.
