Gold cross necklace with a red ruby.
Gold cross necklace with a red ruby.

This necklace is very important to my family because it is an heirloom. It first belonged to my great-great-grandmother and was passed down through generations. The necklace is from Jordan and that's where my father was born. My dad came to America from Jordan in March 1976. He came with his 6 sisters, older brother, and his mom. My dad didn't see his father until the age of three because before my dad was born his father went to America and got a job and sent money to the family in Jordan. After they moved to America my uncle was born shortly after. They moved into an apartment in Yonkers which my grandma lived in up until April when she passed away. After all that my grandma still kept the necklace and passed it down to me and my older sister Alexandra.
