My artifact is a ring. It is made out of gold and has a heart-shaped gem in it. It’s important to me because my grandmother’s sister gave it to me. My grandmother’s sister has always been someone who I am close to. I can remember going to her house and spending so many afternoons there, just talking and eating cookies. A few years ago, she decided to move back to Mexico to live closer to my grandmother. Whenever I see it, it reminds me of her and all those memories. I lost the ring recently and the last time I had it on, it barely fit my ring finger. Whenever I remember it I feel loved and protected, as if I could feel our bond through it.
