Golden Chain
Before my grandpa left his longtime home in India to come to America, he bought a gold chain that would remind him of India. My grandpa wore this chain everyday until my dad turned 17 when my grandpa passed it down to my dad. In my family the chain symbolizes that the young man in the family has become mature, so when it’s passed down it shows that the young man has matured. My dad only wore he chain on holidays and special occasions unlike everyday like my grandpa. The chain was passed down to me when I was 16 and I now wear it only during special occasions just like my dad.
