Gold necklace
In my culture, gold is gifted by parents to their children when they turn 18 as a sign of growth and maturity. Growing up, I would see my mom wear this beautiful pearl necklace shine on the center of her neck. Every time she saw me staring at it, she would tell me about how it would be passed down to me just like her mother passed it down to her. Back then, it felt so far away but now I realize it will be in my possession just next month. Although it’s just a simple necklace, it holds lots of significance from women in my family, which is why I am excited to wear it and possibly pass it down to the next generation.
