Gold Bangles
Shelley Worrell's family is from Trinidad, with African and Indian heritage. Listen as she tells of the connection her bangles create.“My name is Shelley Worrell. Most of my family came, I would say, in the 60s, 70s, into the early 80s. My object is – are my bangles, and um the reason why they have such significance to me personally is because my grandmother um, my father’s mother, always had on bangles, and I always loved the sound of them shaking. And, often in the Caribbean, you also saw – It was just sort of a part of… you know an extension of your body. So for me, it just- I feel very comforted by, by my bangles and it makes me feel like I’m wearing a piece of the Caribbean all the time.”
