Gold baby bracelet
This baby bracelet was brought from China by my great grandparents. The object is made out of 24 karat yellow gold. The bracelet was given to my grandparents when they were born and once my mom was born they gave it to her, and now I have it. My mother told me, “My grandma wore it when she was a baby and passed it on to my mom when she was born.” The bracelet is very small. It is so small that it can barely fit around a baby’s ankle. The bracelet celebrates the birth of a human being. This object is important to me because the bracelet was passed down after so many generations, so I do not want to ruin the chain. On the bracelet there is chinese carvings in it indicating that it is 24 karat gold. I find the bracelet to be really cool because it shows when my great grandparents came over from China they already had a plan on a family tradition that our family can keep passing it down generation after generation. My great grandparents also brought the bracelet from China so it can bring us good luck in the future and in the present time. The bracelet will run in our family for a long time and I am really excited that I was able to find this family tradition and to be able to carry it on.
