My story begins back in high school when I met my best friend, Cesar. Cesar is an immigrant that came to the United States from Mexico when he was only four years old. In order to give him a better life, his parents came to the United States for better job opportunities and a better education. Cesar’s mother has since gone back to Mexico, leaving him, his sister, and his father here. He is one of the strongest individuals I know. He has inspired me so much and that is why I chose to talk about him. For my specific object, I picked his goalkeeper gloves with a soccer ball. He has played soccer since he was 6 years old and I have continuously supported him at all his games since the day I met him. When I see goalie gloves I automatically think of him and I am reminded of how hard he has fought to make a better life for himself in the United States. From his mother leaving to financial struggles, he has pushed through these obstacles and has never given up. Soccer has always been his escape from the harsh realities of being an immigrant in the United States.
