These are some of the beer steins that my grandpa collected over the years. It started out with his grandparents, who would have some of the very old ceramic steins that date back to the nineteenth century. My grandpa is the one who collected the most though, receiving them as Christmas and anniversary gifts throughout the years. His family was mostly a mix of Irish and German, so some of them were also put to use as well and definitely were not just for show! He recently passed last summer, so most of them went to his son with a few going to me as well. Once he passes, I will be lucky enough to inherit them and pass them on to my children as well to have them keep in touch with their ancestors of more than five generations since.
