Immigrants are important because they are the ones that make this country. We are the ones that help build this country. A lot of immigrants do the hard work. They just want to be a better person. They don’t come here to steal somebody’s job. Not everybody is bad that comes here.  I came to the teen center [at the Manny Cantor Center] when I was in 10th grade. It made me feel good how people accepted me. I wouldn’t even talk to anyone. I was scared that I was not going to say things correctly. I would go home straight from school and that was it. After coming to Edgies, it helped me be a better person and not be shy anymore. I was not as open minded as I am now. I don’t listen to what people say anymore. I’m just trying to make my goals come true.
