Flight of the Falcon

Story pending

My object is a stuffed bird. In and of itself it is not important, but it represents a large part of my family and my culture. It looks like a simple stuffed bird with blue wings and a black beak. It is made of soft fabric, called blizzard fleece. I said earlier how it is not an important object, but it represents something important. To understand how this is important, you need to know a few things about my family. We are German, over 50%. I want to say 53%, but I cannot be sure. My last name (Falk) is also German. Falk is not only German, it is Czechoslovakian, but the translation we will be focusing on is the German one. It translates roughly to Falcon (Falke). My ancestors were falconers. Falconers are people that train falcons and other birds of prey various things. On my family crest there is a picture of wings or a falcon perched on top, depending on the one you look at. Also, our family often travels, and so do birds. The bird represents our family well, they never stay in one place long but they always come back to their nest. They travel. They are also, well, birds, like the hawks and falcons we so rarely get to see.

Place(s): Germany, Czechoslovakia
