I come from Senegal and I moved to the US in 2022. The item I chose is fataya. It is Senegalese food and also from other countries in west Africa. It’s my favorite food. It tastes like bread and they put sauce and fish in it. Sometimes if you like the spicy ones, they put the spice inside. Sometimes it’s not spicy. You make it with flour, egg and water and you mix it in a bowl. Then you put that to the side and make the sauce. You take fish and take the bones out. You put oil in a pan and cook it with onions, spices and tomato. You put in the fish and mix it. Then you take the dough and roll it. You cut it and put the fish inside. Then you cook it in oil. Some people open the fataya to put sauce inside. I like to eat them just plain.
