Family Photo
Ever since I could remember, I’ve always had a big family. My great grandparents had more than 16 kids and raised them on their farm. They're farm was located in a rural area in Brazil. They had chicken, cows and horses. It was my grandmother and her siblings' job to help take care of the animals and prepare dinner for everyone. They don’t have many photos of themselves since cameras were not as common at this time. After looking through some old stuff, they found a photo of the whole family together. This photo is an important part of my family's identity because it saved a moment in time for them. Many of my family members immigrated to the U.S for more opportunities. For example, My aunt came to the U.S almost 40 years ago. She’s lived in the United States longer than she lived in Brazil. So keeping memories has always been important to her. They say that photos are worth a thousand words but for my family photos have been worth a thousand memories.
