Family Dreams for Greatness

Great grandparents

My great-grandma was 1 of 15 children, and my great-grandpa is 1 of 17 children. My great grandma's parents were from Mexico and migrated to California. My great grandpa’s parents were from Santa Paula. My great-grandpa went to school up till 8th grade, and my great-grandma went to school up till 6th grade. They were both raised in a Spanish speaking household. Spanish was their first language and learned English in school. They may have not gone far in their education, but they were very smart. My great-grandpa was the best construction worker ever. He knew so much and eventually taught my brother some things. My great-grandma always knew how to cook so many good foods. She was one of those women who had fireproof fingers. She would flip those tortillas without skipping a beat, unlike me I have to turn down the flames. My grandparents were a huge part of my life that it is part of my identity, but I wouldn’t say they were the most important person in my life. They instilled so many positive traits and always believed in us. My family came from nothing and created so much for us. I have always dreamed of being the first generation to graduate and I will be reaching my dream in May.
