This was my maternal great great great grandmother's plaque/family crest from the clan that she was in. The clan is called Campbell. The clan Campbell is a Highland Scottish clan. Historically one of the largest and most powerful of the Highland clans, their lands were in Argyll and the chief of the clan became the Earl and later Duke of Argyll. Today the crest permanently hangs above the doorway in my family's dining room.
