Where else can you see something like this? This neighborhood wouldn’t have been so accepting without immigration. It’s really, really good because everybody gets to see what other people are like, and with time those walls come down. We can’t live without immigrants here. This is what New York is about. We need the immigrants, we need the services, and there has to be a middle of the road. It’s a give and take. You start fitting into different things and people start adjusting, and it’s a good adjustment too. This is the heart and soul of what America started out as. This is it, the kind of people. It’s the same concept, the same fears, the unification of communities within their own culture and then expanding and learning new ones, and especially with racial intermarriages, once those occur, then the floodgates open.
