Engraved ring
This ring has been in my family for 4 generations. The ring is gold and on the inside of the ring it is engraved to say "Will to Mary". My great grandmother's name was Mary and her husband's name was William. They were both born and raised in England. When they fell in love and decided to get married, my great grandfather proposed with this ring. It is ironic since her name was Mary and his name was Will. This is because it is similar to the phrase about someones will to marry another person. In this case it was saying that they were to become one through marriage, "Will to Mary".
This ring has been in my family for 4 generations and has been passed down to a girl in each generation of my family. The ring is quite small considering the women on this side of the family were petite. This ring is beautiful and it holds a lot of value within our family and will continue to be passed down for more generations to come.
