The finished dresser

The object is a dresser, The dresser itself is made from pine wood with mirrors My father built this dresser for my mother in 2008. In fact, when I was 4 years old I was out on the deck of my childhood home watching him build and paint it. My mom uses it to do her hair and makeup and every morning I would see her there while brushing my teeth. My dad made the dresser using his carpentry skills, skills that he had learned before he immigrated.

My dad migrated from Tijuana in Mexico but while in Mexico he learned how to do carpentry while in school being taught by a teacher. Because he learned carpentry before he migrated to Napa in 1999 and while being taught he made his first bench at the age of 12. While he was migrating from Mexico to the U.S and one of the most important things he brought was his carpentry books. Because he learned before he migrated he was able to take the carpentry jobs in the area and one of his favorite things in carpentry was building houses. My father would most likely never stop doing carpentry because it’s his job and hobby and my father’s name is Francisco.
