THE DOMINICAN FLAG (FOOD)
The flag is a traditional food from the Dominican Republic, where people like to eat this food. The name of the dish “La Bandera Dominicana” comes from the similarities of the Dominican flag. The beans represent red, the rice represents white and the meat (either chicken, beef or veal are the three main components of the dish. But we always serve it with some salads (traditionally the salad is made with cabbage and tomato). We can’t forget the avocado and the fried or plantain maduros (green plantains or fried plantains). I told my mom to teach me how to cook. The first food I learned to make was the flag. When I make the flag in New York I remember my country.
