Dish
This artifact has been in my family since 1916. It belonged to my dad’s grandma. It’s a dish used by a housewife , where she would pour warm water for her husband to wash his face, hands, and feet before he prayed. It’s been in my family for a few generations , but lost it’s element of use. In order for it to stay in good condition, my father polishes it every once in a while with special brass polishing paste. This is special to my family because it described how my culture would get ready / prepare for praying. Praying is also a big thing in my religion. But now , since we have the technology to properly get ready for prayer, like sinks and showers, we wouldn’t have to use this dish anymore. This furthermore shows how my culture and family has changed a lot since then.
