Baseball like the one I caught

My object is a baseball that I caught at a Mets game as a child. However, this baseball is more than just a 5 ounce, 2.5 inch in diameter sphere hit by Mets legend David Wright, it represents the spirit of being American and how much I appreciate it. Baseball is a sport that represents America’s pastime. It reflects the country’s history, values, and culture of perseverance and possibility. Catching that ball was so exciting and it showed me how sports can unite people and bring out the best in us all.
Catching this ball required a mix of skill and luck, much like the American Dream-the idea that through hard work, opportunity, and a bit of luck, anything is possible. Although not that big of a deal, catching this ball made me appreciate how lucky I am to be part of this great country. I was surrounded by drunk baseball fans and people of all different backgrounds. But, in that moment it didn’t matter. We all wanted the Mets to win and were happy that Wright hit that Home Run to give us the lead. As I see this ball still sitting on a shelf in my room, I am constantly reminded of my deep sense of Patriotism, a love for America where everyone’s story matters, and where I have the freedom to pursue my dreams.
