The Daisy (Marguerite) flower is the national flower of Denmark. When Princess Margrethe was born in 1940, shortly after the Nazi invasion of Denmark, prominent jewelers created the Daisy jewelry(as a tribute to the princess). It soon became very popular & a symbol of patriotism. the Daisy flower is said to be the favorite flower of the princess who is now Queen Margrethe II of Denmark. She often wears, various versions of the jewelry. I like to wear it on festive occasions as a reminder of my roots.
