My family artifact is a dagger which was smuggled from the middle east (Yemen). My grandma came here to America with the dagger. This is special to my grandma and my family because it reminds them of their past and their home back in Yemen. But its also a reminder of their way to a better life. Immigrating to America was the best thing my Grandma has ever done, and this dagger was apart of her during this journey. Leaving Yemen meant she was leaving wars behind, and escaping battles and a horrible way of living. This blade was also used by my great great Grandpa during battles in Yemen and as a way to defend himself. Without my Grandma immigrating my Dad wouldn't be alive, neither me. And this blade has traveled this far. Showing its importance to my family.
