Cross

The refulgent reflection on my chest, like a bright star bursting out of my chest into the eyes of the observer. It is the first thing people notice when they see me. It may look like just a piece of gold but it means more than that to me. My Yiayia, which means grandmother in Greek, got me this cross when she went to Greece last summer. My cross is made of yellow gold and in the middle of the cross is white gold. I wear my cross around my neck every day. My cross brings back the memories of going to my Yiayia’s house to eat dinner with my cousins, uncle, and aunts on holidays and events like easter and New Years. The cross also represents my religion, which is Greek Orthodox. I love my cross and it’s very important to me because it brings back the memories of my Yiayia.
