My dads specialty.
My dads specialty.

Something that has to do with my culture that is very important to me is cooking/baking. Any special utensils are great too. Growing up, along with now, my family has always made home cooked meals. We were never that family who goes out to eat every other day. My mom is mostly Italian. She is a great cook/baker. She likes to make many Italian dishes such as chicken franchise, anything with pasta, and homemade garlic bread. My dad is mostly Ecuadorian like me and my sister. He is a great cook with Spanish food and meats. My dad's specialty is steak, meatballs, and ceviche. Ceviche is a Spanish dish that consists of shrimp, lime juice, cilantro, onions, and more. My dad is an immigrant. He moved to New Jersey from Ecuador when he was 6 years old. His mother, who is my grandma, ALWAYS cooks too...like my parents. It wasn't too hard to adjust to this new country for my dad, because he was so young. The Spanish tradition of cooking didn't change from Ecuador to New Jersey. We still make Spanish dishes all the time. All in all, cooking is a very spacial part in my life!
