This compact belonged to my great-great grandmother. She gave it to my great grandmother and about a year or two before she died, she’d given it to me with a picture of my mother and I inside. I carry it with me holding a  picture of my great-grandmother and I in it now because when I look at it, it reminds me of all the stories she would tell me about her mother. She told me her mother had this mirror since she was a little girl. This compact is special to me because I know how much it meant to my great-grandmother, this wasn’t one of the last
things she had given me before she passed.
