A combined flag of my heritages.

Items that I will be presenting will be a flag of my heritage. Colombia and Ecuador and a colombian dish. These are relevant to who I am because my culture defines who I am. I am proud of my countries because they resemble my family. It also resembles the challenges that my family overcame when they were in either Colombia or Ecuador. For instance my parents weren’t born in the united states. The immigrated from Colombia and Ecuador when they were very young. My Great Grandfather had actually came to the U.S. first and found himself a small job that he was able to save up money and afford for my mom and her family to all come to the U.S. While my dad was living in Ecuador, his mom and his sister had decided they wanted to move to the U.S. but they didn’t have alot of money to fall back on when deciding to make a major change in their life styles. The reason for the colombian dish is that I eat colombian food nearly everyday. This resembles my grandparents. My grandparents have always told my sister and I to embrace our culture and have never hid us away from it. When my sister and I were young they took us to colombia (cartagena, Colombia). They showed us different foods, clothes, and the ways that people did things that were far different from the U.S. This has impacted my personal life because understanding my culture has shown me to appreciate were I come from, and helping me understand more of where my parents grew up and how they were raised differently then I was.
