Gia Cullinan Period 4/5  My object is a Claddagh ring. The ring means a lot to my family, my nana’s mother passed her down this ring. My great grandmother was given this ring by her husband, when she passed, it was given to my nana who tells me I will be next to receive the beautiful ring. It originated in Ireland where my great grandmother and grandfather were born and raised. My grandmother moved to the United States at seventeen years old before she passed away at 76, bringing my nana into the world in the U.S. The ring has three items that create one whole image. It has a heart, which symbolizes Ireland's love for their country. The next image is a crown which symbolizes Irelands loyalty, and lastly there is a set of hands which shows Irelands friendship with its allies.
