Sterling silver Claddagh necklace

This is my good luck charm. My mom gifted me this sterling silver Claddagh necklace and bought a matching one for herself about 20 years ago. It represents both our Irish heritage, as well as our mother-daughter bond. The traditional symbols are significant to our relationship. The heart shows our love for each other, the hands signify our friendship, and the crown stands for loyalty to each other and our families. In researching the origins of the Claddagh ring, I discovered the saying  “Let love and friendship reign”, which sums up the relationship I have with my mom. Although I do not always wear this necklace, I do wear it when I am looking for protection, safety, and a positive outcome. I wear it every time I travel and I made sure to wear it when I gave birth to my son. In keeping with tradition and parental care, I will give one to my son one day to bring him the luck of the Irish and remind him of my love.
