Christening Gown

Story pending

Even though I do not remember my baptism, it was still a big milestone in my religious life. A baptismal gown, also known as a christening gown, is a dress-like garment that babies of either gender wear when they are baptized into the Christian faith. The baptismal gown I wore was passed down from my grandfather to my father  to my brother, then to me. This object connects to my identity because it represents the core of Christianity, inviting others to remember Jesus and to have a relationship with him. Also, it's a heirloom that has been passed on to me through previous generations and allows me to connect to them. Because it symbolizes something that is very meaningful to me and my family, this object is important to me.  This tradition will keep going as I share it with my children who will then share it with theirs.
