Chinese New Year is the most important holiday for the Chinese people.  Celebration of Chinese New Year starts a few days before the end of the Lunar Year.  Chinese New Year is the time when families get together for dinner and the Chinese communities hold celebrations all over the world.  Family members usually come home for the New Year’s Eve dinner.  Different delicacies are served, every dish has a special meaning for good health, happiness and good fortune and parents send red envelopes with good luck money to her children.  The parents hope they get good luck all year round.  For the community, lion dance Groups World come out in force to wish everyone a Happy New Year.  Gong and Drums would drive out the bad spirits.  Sweets and red envelopes with money would be passed out to the children.  Family union is most important during Chinese New Year.
