Although my grandmother never was able to move back to her home in China, she was able to incorporate a little bit of it into her everyday life in Scarsdale, New York. After my grandmother had settled down and was financially secure, she started buying some extra pieces of art that brought her joy and back to her roots. This Chinese Landscape is but one of the many pieces of art my grandma bought. This one in particular reminded her of the mountains and Chinese landscapes. Even though my grandma wasn't able to return back to her home in China after retirement, she was able to bring some of her culture to America, for her children and grandchildren to experience.
