My object is a Chinese Buddha necklace. It is from China. My mom bought it from China for me to wear. I wear it every day. It’s made out of jade and it’s strung on a silver chain. Some Chinese/Asian people believe in Buddha and are Buddhists. Not even Chinese, but other races too, have come to practice the principles and thinking behind this way of life. Buddhism is a way of living, not a religion. I wear this necklace because it’s lucky to me. I guess what I mean by that is that it holds positive energy, and gives me comfort.  I chose this object because it’s part of my culture and both my mom and grandmother wear a Buddha too. My grandma and mother are the strongest women I know, and with this necklace I’m reminded that their strength resides in me too. I want to grow up to be as strong as my mother and grandma.  The Buddha that I wear is smiling, so I think that the necklace will give me happiness throughout my life as I wear it. There’s a quote from Buddha that I like: The mind is like water. When it’s turbulent, it’s difficult to see. When it’s calm, everything becomes clear.I think it means that if you are panicking you can’t really focus and you feel tight. But if you are calm and relaxed, you can concentrate better, focus more and you will feel great.
