My object is a necklace I received from my mother. When I was given the necklace I was asked if I knew who it belonged to before and I knew instantly who. It had belonged to my godfather who had passed away a couple of years before. He had passed due to a decline in his health after a car accident. The necklace is a gold chain, with a gold cross on it. When I had received it was very happy because it was something I could sort of remember him and always have on my person. My godfather was someone very special to me. He was like a second father I could always count on to have some kind of fun experience. He was born in the summer of 1950, on june 8th. He's one of my moms older brothers. He lived close by my house so we always got to see each other weekly. He helped me get into playing sports because both my parents work so they couldn't really give me an opportunity to join different teams. This was due to not having enough time to balance work and drive me to the practices. But thanks to him I was able to start because he would drive me to wherever place I had to go. He had introduced me into doing karate with my younger cousin, his daughter. I had done it for a couple of years then I started to fall in love with another sport, football. Everything my godfather did for me has shaped me into the person I am today, and I am grateful for everything he's done. To have his necklace to remember him by means the world to me and I will always cherish it.
