Ceviche
When I was eight my mom and I went to see a marching band in NYC. We missed our flight and we decided to stay. After about a month my mom’s best friend bought us plane tickets headed to Milwaukee because he wanted us to live there. When we arrived I met his family who became my own. My first Christmas here my aunt made Ceviche and it reminded me that I would always be from Panama and it made me happy. Ceviche is a Hispanic food that is made of raw fish marinated in lemon juice and different vegetables like onions, cilantro, different peppers, and seafood. The taste of ceviche reminds me of summer and happiness. This is one of my favorite foods because it brings back so many childhood memories that are very important to me.
