Cell phone
I remember when I first got my phone in elementary school. Something that is so small has a lot of control on my life and pretty much everyone’s life. My parents always joke about “back in the day” when they had to use the “house phone”. But today an object that is made of metal, glass, and plastic makes life easier. We use our phone for entertainment but without it you couldn’t stay connected to friends and family and get information about things happening in the world. You really need it to communicate. As a teenager in the US your phone is part of who you are. When I don’t have my phone I feel like I’m missing out something. My mom is always threatening to take my phone away when I get in trouble but then she realizes that I actually need it to travel, to pay for stuff, and to talk to her. In my family we all use our phones all the time. We can also learn that phones can be bad for you too. Kids are always on their phones and some kids are addicted to their phone. Even though we use our phones to communicate they can also stop you from having quality time with friends and family. Sometimes when we are in the car my parents yell “get your head out of that phone you are missing everything.” I’m sure my relationship with my phone is like a lot of other kids in the US.
