cape cod
Going to Cape Cod represents my family's cultural identity because when they first came to America they wanted to make a family tradition, so I guess it reminds them of becoming citizens. Ever since I was 6 I can remember going to cape cod every year then coming home and doing fireworks. My family is from Cape Verde, but they spent most of their lives in Boston. I think going to cape cod makes them so happy because it reminds them of their childhood and when they first came to America.
I think them finding a place where we can go to every year is unique because most familys pass down objects so it's cool that we'll have a place where we can go to forever. It might connect to other families, because when most people come to America they're very unfamiliar with the areas so they have to find new places to become comfortable with. I love going to cape cod every year and it's almost always my favorite part of the year and I know me and my cousins will continue the tradition with our kids.
