There are a lot of meals and holidays that are important to my family, but the one that is the most important is corned beef and cabbage on Saint Patrick’s Day. This meal is significant to my family because my family is very Irish and has been having corned beef and cabbage on Saint Patrick’s day for over 75 years. My Grandma Murphy is 100% Irish and my great, great grandparents on both sides of the Murphy family came from Ireland to start a better life. The St. Patrick’s Day dinner tradition started once they settled in America. These meals are always very memorable to me because I am able to sit down with my family and just hang out. This meal has brought great memories to family members of all ages for such a long time. I feel special to be part of this tradition and be able to celebrate it with the awesome people in my family and extended family as well. Even though the food isn’t my favorite, I always have a good time because I am in an environment where it doesn't matter how the food tastes. I feel so loved that I think that nothing is wrong in the world. Every moment of the dinner is fun. I am around my grandparents, my cousins, and aunts and uncles...all the people I love the most. This is why this celebration is so special to me.
