Butterfly was my nickname

The first thing I can remember about my grandma is she would always call me her butterfly from a young age and it always stuck with me. It was my grandma’s favorite granddaughter that I loved hearing her call me her butterfly. It was not often that my grandma came to visit my family and me because she was an immigrant from Mexico but just how close I was with her when she came to visit made me happy. She struggled at times to make a living for herself. Poverty was huge for the Mexicans in Mexico at times. My grandma did not want to leave Mexico despite what she was doing through and for me, at such a young age I wondered why she just did not come to live with my family and me. She could have been so much closer to me and I would have been able to hear her call me her butterfly every day. Despite her not wanting to move from Mexico I did miss her voice and what she would always call me. People were starting to go landless in Mexico and that did not affect my grandma as she still wanted to stay in Mexico. When my grandma would visit us but have to go back to Mexico, she would pass through El Paso but mainly Texas to get to where she lived. There came a point where Mexico was starting to become dangerous and shooting was occurring. When my grandma was taken from my family and I due to how bad it was in Mexico, my family kept calling me butterfly to keep my grandmas presents alive with me. Till this day butterflies are what keeps my grandmas presents alive in me even though she is no longer with us.
